Gynaecologist and Obstetrician and Laparoscopic Surgeon. She passed MBBS from Calcutta National Medical College, Kolkata. She completed her MS from Chittaranjan Seva Sadan College of Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Child Health, Kolkata, where she scored highest marks in Gynae and Obs in the College. Her thesis was presented in various conferences and was awarded recognition for it. She subsequently did her DNB from the National Board of Examinations, Delhi. She was conferred MRCOG 1(membership of Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, London). She has participated and successfully completed various courses on infertility, ART, USG, Folliculometry, laparoscopy, and Hysteroscopy from different institutes. She has presented papers and posters in various conferences and has acclaimed national recognition for them. Dr Sumona Ghosh Banerjee has been invited to deliver lectures in many conferences at the regional and national level. She has many research publications in peer and esteemed journals. She is a member of Bengal Obstetric and Gynaecological Society (BOGS). She performs all types of Laparoscopic Gynaecological Surgeries, including Hysterectomy (Removal of Womb), Myomectomy (removal of tumor), Cystectomy (chocolate cyst), Ovarian Drilling (PCOD).
She treats all types of INFERTILITY problems. Many of her patients are experiencing the joy of being parents despite having problems in conceiving for a long time due to PCOD, fibroids (Uterine tumors), endometriosis (Chocolate Cyst) and Tubal Block. Test tube baby is not the only solution to infertility for her patients. She has successfully treated many critical patients suffering from recurrent miscarriage, pre-term delivery, and implantation failure. Dr Sumona Ghosh Banerjee has the experience of managing High Risk Pregnancy which includes Diabetes, hypertension (high BP), Epilepsy, Thyroid Disorder, inadequate growth of the baby (IUGR). She believes in patient centered care and individualization of treatment. She is well versed in both normal delivery and cesarean sections. She has expertise in performing emergency laparoscopic and Hysteroscopic services like Ectopic Pregnancy (pregnancy in the tube), incomplete miscarriage, removal of polyp etc. She keeps herself updated regularly on the latest developments occurring in the field of Gynae and Obs throughout the world.
